How Early Before Bedtime Should Screentime Be Turned Off?

- User Submitted

So, another question to piggyback off of that is: for young children, how early before bed should screen time be turned off?

The recommendation is an hour. An hour, okay. The general recommendation is about an hour. Most screens produce what’s called a blue light. That blue light can influence the release of melatonin in the body. If you look that up, there’s a little bit of research on that.

So the recommendation that I’ve seen in many different locations is about an hour before. It’s good for all of us—little bit harder, but it is something that’s important.
